William Henry Harrison

William Henry Harrison (1773–1841) was the ninth president of the United States, serving from March 4, 1841 until his death on April 4, 1841 — a term of just 31 days, the shortest in U.S. history. He had previously gained recognition as a military commander at the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811 and as a territorial governor of Indiana. Harrison delivered the longest inaugural address in U.S. history on a cold, wet day and died of pneumonia a month later, though historians debate whether the two events were directly connected.
