Joe Biden — 46th President of the United States
46th President of the United States, Democratic
Joe Biden
Term: Jan 20, 2021 – Jan 20, 2025
Joe Biden (born 1942) was the forty-sixth president of the United States, serving from 2021 to 2025, and the most recent former president. He signed the American Rescue Plan in 2021 to address the COVID-19 pandemic and a bipartisan infrastructure law later that year. His term also saw high inflation reaching multi-decade levels and the 2021 withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, which drew criticism over its execution as the Taliban rapidly retook the country.
“We've learned again that democracy is precious; democracy is fragile. At this hour, my friends, democracy has prevailed.”
